I am creating a movie for my students who are graduating. I purchased the song I want to use directly on my iPad, so I didn't have to synch. I can add the song, but I have a short audio track that I'd prefer to use to open my movie (it's a detached audio file from a clip at the end of last year, and it shows up as blue). I want the song I purchased to begin about 12 seconds into my video (the song shows up as green). When I drop it into my video, it drops UNDER (instead of after) the 12-second audio I'm opening with, at reduced volume. I don't want that. I want the song to play in its entirety, starting at the end of the 12-second clip. I can pick up the song file and try to move it to the playhead, where I want it to start, but it snaps right back to the beginning. I even tried inserting a silent .m4a 10-second file under the audio I want to open with, but it also inserts as blue and won't bump my song ahead. Why can't I insert a song in the middle of a project? Is there a workaround? my iPad is a Mini 3 running the latest of everything. Thank you.
